SUCCESS at Greenfield Community College

About the Program:

SUCCESS at Greenfield Community College (GCC) provides students with advising, success coaching, peer mentoring, and basic needs support. The program emphasizes relationship-building and individualized support. Advisor/Success Coaches provide proactive outreach, consistent follow-up, and encourage the use of existing resources. With the support of their Advisor/Success Coach, GCC students will develop an intentional and personalized academic plan; set semesterly priorities based on their capacity and goals; learn to navigate GCC policies and college expectations; and develop a sense of agency and ownership of their educational experience. Peer Mentors help students develop a sense of belonging through pro-active outreach, one-on-one interactions, and events.

SUCCESS services are offered through the Advising Center. Eligible students are identified at the time of enrollment and automatically enrolled in SUCCESS. By design, students are not made aware that they have been identified as eligible for SUCCESS services. As such, participation is determined in a hybrid manner โ€“ priority populations are enrolled on an opt-out basis, but the program remains open to all students who express interest in available services. Students not already assigned a Success Coach are able to request one through a form found in their student portal, and may request a Peer Mentor by linking to our matching survey found on the GCC Peer Mentors webpage.

Students are encouraged to engage with SUCCESS services at GCC through consistent and targeted outreach. They continue to receive services until they earn their degree or certificate. Students have access to all other college and community resources including financial aid, wellness services, peer tutoring, and career services, to name a few.
